We didn't make time this summer for a "real" camping trip. The kids were kinda bummed, I was kinda bummed, and Brian was relieved. However, he did tell the kids that he would do a backyard campout with them one night! So, they set up the tent, got all their blankets and cozies out there, we made s'mores and roasted Starbursts on our fire table, and they had a blast! I don't think they got a ton of sleep.....I opted for sleeping in my bed and letting this be a "dad event." And they loved it.
