The weekend before the cousins came from Texas, we decided to sneak in a quick camping trip! We went with our dinner group friends and their families again this summer. The kids were sooooo excited! After two days of planning and packing, we hit the road! We went to a place called Silver Creek Plunge. It was really nice. It had decent facilities (porta potties, paved roads, a little store, and an awesome creek that ran all through the campsites). It was quite a ways up in the mountains (chilly nights!) and a bit of a windy drive (no puking this time, thank goodness). But once we got there, we had a blast!
The kids just played and played.....rode bikes, played in the water and sand, went exploring, and even planned, rehearsed, and put on a little performance in our tent one day! We got dirty, fished, and spent a lot of time playing in the creek and sitting around the fire!
The first night sleeping was a little rough (COLD!), but we bundled up better the next night and everyone did okay.
Camping is a ton of work to get ready for and to clean up after, but is always a ton of fun! The kids are already looking forward to next summer's trip!
