The "woods" out in back of the cabin provide almost as much entertainment as the lake out the front! We did a lot of exploring and went on lots of walks. And it almost always ended with a Troll Hunt! Year after year we've been searching the woods for signs of the trolls that we were told live there. We haven't found any yet, but I imagine we'll keep looking! Aubrey actually did say she thinks she saw one this year.....she said it had big eyes and a big nose, kinda like Elmo. (I hope Charlotte didn't catch that!) We also left a piece of candy one night for the trolls, and the next day when we went back, it was GONE! There have also been some additions to the troll "area." Along with the Troll Crossing sign, this year there were several little decorated bird houses and lots of notes and things left for the trolls. Apparently the little houses are for the fairies and gnomes that live in the woods to chase away the trolls (this according to some little girls we ran into one night while exploring). There was also a graveyard of sorts. Thankfully these hunts didn't cause too many nightmares for our children! But we did have lots of fun!
