Hawaii: Day 5

Day 5 we decided to head south!  We grabbed some yummy juice smoothies and hit the road.  It isn't a super long drive, but it took us about an hour.  We stopped first at Spouting Horn....a little spot that has these huge rocks over top of the water.  So when a wave comes in, the water sprays up through the holes.  Kinda cool.  Then we went to Shipwreck Beach in Poipu.  It was such an awesome beach!  We did some boogie boarding and saw a bunch of big sea turtles.  There is also a huge rock that people jump off of.  I had no intention of jumping off, but somehow got talked into walking up to the top with the other 3.  Chris was worried if he stood there too long he wouldn't jump, so he took off first.  Beth hesitated a little, but then made the jump.  As I peered over the rocky little ledge you have to stand on to make the 40 foot jump, I was having serious doubts.  When Beth surfaced she was yelling up at me, "Don't jump!  Don't do it!"  Apparently she hit her arm pretty hard, and went a lot further down than she was expecting.  So when I heard that, I promptly walked myself down the cliff.  Brian jumped last, and said it was a great jump!
After we hung out at that beach a while, we got some lunch and yummy chips, salsa, and guac and some amazing margaritas.  We then headed to a rental shop to get some paddle boards for Beth and me and a surf board for Brian.  We headed to a beach they recommended for beginners.  Paddle boarding in the ocean is hard!  Those waves can really mess with you.  But we had so much fun out there falling and laughing so hard.  Brian caught a couple waves he said, but decided that he's a little too impatient for surfing....lots of waiting around for a "good" wave.  But it was such a fun day!  We headed back to our resort about dinner time, and discovered the best taco shop of all time, Tiki Tacos.  They have the best soft, corn tortillas I've ever had.  Pair that with their emu pork and oh my.  We ended up going back two more times before we left!
