Ah, June....school is just getting out and the whole summer lies ahead. It's a lovely month. It's always our "slowest" month of the summer. It always gives us our much-needed downtime, and let's us gear up for our crazy months of July and August. This June was no different.
One of the last days of school, some neighborhood moms and I filled up a bunch of water balloons and set up my new water cannon. We hid out and waited for Aubrey and her friends (their daughters) to come walking home from school. When they rounded the corner onto our street, we attacked!! It was hilarious. A full fledged water fight broke out....it was awesome.
My good friend Patti retired from teaching this June, so we had lots of partying to do to help her celebrate. Fun!
Then started swimming lessons! Charlotte and Carson took lessons again from Ms Louise (Aubrey decided she was too old). But both kids really progressed quickly and had an awesome time! We love Ms Louise!!
Then just a couple pics of some of the fun had hanging around and PLAYING in June.....Aubrey and friends putting on a concert (The Cool Kids Band), a spa day, Dessert Date Night (a new tradition we started to get some more one-on-one time with each child), and Charlotte getting introduced to the new "normal" of summertime (no naps and on the GO). Also included are some hilarious pictures of our June dinner group! The theme was "Halloween in June." Little did we know when we showed up in costume (GIANT grapes), we'd be sent all over town on a scavenger hunt!! It was humiliating and awesome.
A great month of routines (chores, summer "school," library reading program, etc), lots of playing with neighbors and friends, I hosted a Book Club for Aubrey and some friends, playdates, swimming in our neighborhood pools, and just relaxing! Love June!!
