We were up and going bright and early! We decided to start in Disneyland the first day, and we were there at rope drop! Along with several hundred other people.... We rushed straight to Indiana Jones and Pirates to get those big ones done first. That was awesome because they were both really fun! Char couldn't ride Indiana Jones, so we got to take advantage of the "kid swap" which means the two older kids get to ride twice without having to wait in line again! We were just running from ride to ride. We discovered we all LOVED Big Thunder Mountain and everyone was impressed with the Haunted Mansion and all the Nightmare Before Christmas and Jack Skellington stuff. We had scheduled our Princess Lunch for that first day so Charlotte could get her pictures and autographs with the princesses checked off (without having to wait in lines)! So after hitting up a bunch of "big kid" rides and hitting Toontown a little, we headed over to Ariel's Grotto in California Adventure for a late lunch. (We were smart and packed snacks, sandwiches, waters, etc. so we could mostly just eat one big meal a day.)
The lunch was fun! Aubrey and Carson were good sports, and I think they were excited for Charlotte. Char loved seeing all the "real" princesses, and it was nice to sit for a while out of the heat. Did I mention, it was HOT?! Middle of October and it was approaching 100 degrees!!
After lunch, we stayed in CA for a while....Aubrey and I tried California Screamin' (yikes!), met a few characters, watched an awesome parade, and rode some more rides! It was a long, exciting, exhausting, super FUN, smile till your face hurts, day. We got to our hotel around 10:00 (I think) and crashed!! We knew we were going to do it all again tomorrow!
