Ivy Wild, BNO/GNO, & Shopping Day

Without access to a backyard pool this year, we decided to try out a public pool in Boise called Ivy Wild.  It was fun!  They have a couple little waterslides and a fun kiddie area.  And it was cheap!  Even better. Also pictured, Kacee subbing on Brian, Chris and Catlin's indoor soccer team.  I think she got in a pretty good little workout!

Then it was time for the Boys' Night Out/Girls' Night Out.  The girls decided to do dinner, shopping, and dessert at The Village.  Fun!  And of course there's no picture of the BNO, but they did dinner at Golden Corral (think 5 cotton candies, pizza, tacos, and a plate of olives) and then to see Captain America.

And it was finally time for Shopping Day!  We waited to go on one of Mary's days off, and it was quite a wait for the little girls.  Aubrey and Ella had a special something planned for this year's trip....getting their ears pierced!!  They'd only been talking about it for a couple years.  And this was the summer it was going to happen.  They first fought about who would HAVE to go first, then it was who GOT to go first.  During the days prior to the piercing, little Ruby decided she should also get to be in on the fun.  She begged her way in.  They finally picked numbers and Ella got it.  Upon arriving at Claire's, however, Ella decided she'd let Aubrey go first after all.  :)  Aubrey got up there, and was pretty nervous, but didn't make too much of a fuss.  She wanted Callie to hold her hand.  After they pierced her, she just sort of laughed a nervous laugh.  She was glad it was over!  She then got to watch her cousins sit in the hot seat.  Ella got pretty worked up before the piercing.  They actually told her they couldn't do it if she didn't calm down a little.  But once it was done, she was fine.  Ruby hopped up there like it was nothing, but then after they pierced her she started crying in pain!  I think they were all a little surprised at how much it actually hurt!  But they sure look darling (and grown up!) with their little pierced ears.  Callie and Colbie also got in on the fun and got the top part of one ear each pierced.
The rest of Shopping Day went pretty much as usual....shopped till we literally dropped!!  Carson went with us this year because I thought he was a little young to be left alone with the older boys.  He did not love Shopping Day.  He only wanted to buy toys.  Luckily for him, Aunt Donna had to leave early, and she rescued him and took him with her.  But we found some great stuff for back to school, and everyone (besides Carson) shopped like champs.,.,even Charlotte.  And then she passed out in the car on the way home.
