The big day finally arrived! It was on a Thursday this year. Aubrey and Carson's school doesn't let them wear costumes to the class parties. (And can I just say, as a parent, I loved that! No stress, just a fun, normalish day at school.) Anyway, I worked that day and got to put on a party for my third graders (complete with costumes....no, I'm not bitter), then we rushed home, ate some dinner, got dressed, G and G and Mary came over for a little preview, and then Brian and the kids took off to hit up the neighborhood!! They met up with some friends and amassed quite the stash of candy! Brian brought Charlotte home about an hour after they left....apparently she was done and holding back the others. But they had a really fun night!
And don't they look awesome!?! Carson wanted to be a ninja again this year. So, great! Costume from last year still fit! He did get to choose a couple new weapons. Aubrey wanted to be something "creepy" this year. We found a darling mummy dress, and she was insistent that she have blood on her face. And that hair!! That is all her real hair....some serious ratting and hair spray! Brian kept joking that she looked like me in high school (not too far off)! And the irony of Charlotte as Rapunzel still cracks me up! I waited to get out the wig until Halloween night because I knew it would be a mess after one wear. But she was sooooo excited to put it on! She kept that thing on the whole night of trick-or-treating! She looked so different with hair!! Anyway, another fun Halloween in the books!
