The Saturday before Halloween, we took the kids to the annual Boo at the Zoo! It was pretty chilly that morning, but we decided to brave it and go anyway. Aubrey was excited to put on her witch costume, and Carson was definitely ready to be a ninja. Charlotte, however, was less than thrilled when we attempted to put her black cat costume on her. She refused to wear it (or a coat) the entire time we were there. Also, come to find out, she was terrified of people in costumes, especially the kid-friendly characters that like to come up and talk to/high five/hug the small children. So, Boo at the Zoo was a little bit of a shorter outing this year.
Aubrey and Carson had a great time though! Grandma Thompson also came with us this year, so that was fun.
Side note about the "birds in the nest" pictures: Charlotte is in that phase where anytime we tell one of the other kids to stop doing something, she immediately starts doing it. That girl doesn't want to be left out of anything! So in the first picture, I told Carson to put his tongue in his mouth. So for the rest of the pictures in the nest, Charlotte had her tongue sticking out just as far as she could! Silly girl.
Then later that night, Brian and I had a Halloween party at some friends' house. I borrowed a Cruella DeVille costume from a friend, and so Brian decided to stick with the theme and go as Michael Vick. Oh my, that wig is scary. And I am waayyy too pasty to wear red lipstick. But a fun night!

You make an awesome Cruella! I love that wig!! And can I comment on Aubrey's smiles??? Look how beautiful and natural they are looking! Maybe she's growing out of the "awkward smile phase," or maybe it's just the red lipstick. :)
