Aubrey is back in soccer this fall! She's been very excited for the season to start. We've of course been wondering how this season would go in comparison to last season. After her first game, I'm happy to report that it went quite well! She still isn't real aggressive nor does she have any outstanding ball skills, but she was out there running around and trying her best! She was going after the ball, had lots of good kicks, and felt very good about her performance (although she really had hoped to score 11 goals the first game)!
She is the only girl on her team again this year, but she does know one boy on the team, her friend Chase. We have high hopes for the season!!
Here she is warming up......

Gotta have the shot with the hands down the shorts.....

Nice kick Aubrey!

And after all that warming up, she sat out the first couple minutes.....

And here is poor, poor Carson. As you can see he's wearing "his" soccer uniform (aka Aubrey's from last year). He just doesn't quite understand why he can't play yet!! We'd been talking about it all week, and I thought he had pretty much made peace with the fact that it was Aubrey's game coming up. However, in the car on the way he asked again, "Is it MY soccer game?"
One more season to watch buddy!

Luckily, there was an empty field close by that Brian took him to play on for a bit.

Then he's back to watching.....

Get in there Aubrey!

Ready for the next kick off.

Look at her going for it!

I love this look......it's the, "I'm really hot and tired, can I come out now?!" look.

Finally a water break.

She played a great game!! Way to go Monkey!

Are you sure I can't play yet??

And the end-of-game cheer!

Then off to the best part of the game, snacks and drinks!!
Stay tuned for more soccer fun as the games roll on.
Side note: I am so excited to report that after weeks of post after post after post, I am finally caught up!!!!!!! For at least a couple days anyway.....

her pink fashionista sunglasses are my favorite part!
Poor, poor Carsey! You did a great job of documenting the entire experience. The pictures say it all! I loved it! And what are you going to do when she gets older and they ban her sunglasses??? She'll have to get rec-specs, even if she doesn't have a prescription in them!
