Shortly into January, Aubrey had her guitar recital! She was very nervous, and felt a little unsure of her second song, Free Falling. It was a really hard song! I thought she did great, but she was definitely upset after the performance. Kind of a bummer. But she was happy with her first song, and seemed to get over it quickly. I love these recitals though. It's fun to see Aubrey perform, but also to see how all the kids are improving! I really hope she will continue to enjoy playing the guitar and keep with it!!
And then later in the month, we finally took Aubrey back to the eye doctor! She had an exam about 2 years ago (in 2nd grade) and the doc thought she could use a little correction. However, it was so minimal that I just thought she won't wear her glasses if she doesn't really need them. So we decided to wait. And then time just got away from us, and before we knew it she was half way through 4th grade and couldn't see! So yeah, we felt kinda bad for making her wait so long! The eye doc said she definitely needs glasses (her prescription is just a little lower than mine). And aren't those glasses darling! After much searching (and whining) at the Costco Optical Dept, she finally picked a pair she liked. And she looks so adorable. And she can see.
