Grandma Jane

Brian's Grandma Jane passed away a week or so before Christmas.  It's hard to say her passing was a surprise, because of course she was 94 years old and had been living in assisted living for several years.  But in a way it was sudden.  She wasn't bedridden or in the obvious last days of her life.  Her eyesight had been failing for years, but her mind was sharp as a tack.  Even though it did kind of surprise us, I think everyone was so thankful that she went quickly and peacefully.
We always looked forward to visiting her every summer, and I know she enjoyed getting to talk with Brian and hear the kids running around.  She was such a big part of Brian's childhood and I know he had so much love and respect for her.
Brian and I ended up driving up to Sandpoint with just the two of us....thank you mom for watching the kids! Almost all of Brian's uncles, aunts, and cousins were able to be there.  Some we haven't seen in years. It was a very nice service (Grandma Jane had it all planned perfectly).  Brian spoke and did a very nice job.  It was clear how much of a positive influence Grandma Jane had on so many people.
