A couple months ago, my mom asked if she could take Aubrey and Carson to Texas with her when she goes to visit the Carlson's. I knew Aubrey would be ecstatic, and I knew Carson would want to go but was a little more worried about how he'd do for 5 days without his mom or dad. Then I got to thinking, maybe Charlotte and I would just go too.....
So we did!! We waited until about two weeks before the trip to tell the kids (the wait was still pretty excruciating). They were sooooo excited when the day finally came. The airplane rides went pretty smoothly. Thank goodness for technology. On the way there, Charlotte got her own seat (2 actually), which was nice. The rides home we weren't quite as lucky, but she still did great.
And we had such a great time there!! The weather was nice and warm (much needed break from cold), the food was awesome (those Carlson's know how to eat!), and we just had a ton of fun. We took the kids to a little play, The Cat in the Hat, went up to Canyon Lake one day, and those kids just PLAYED! They all get along so well, it's just really easy and fun. We also got to be there to see Ella get baptized at her church.
It was just a really fun trip, and now the kids are counting down till summer to see the cousins again!!
