Charlotte Jane is TWO!

Believe it or not (want it or not), our little Charlotte Jane is TWO years old!!  A quick look back at Charlotte from 1 to 2.....

What I want to remember about Charlotte at TWO:
  • She is hilarious!  She loves to make us laugh.....her funny faces, her silly songs, her sometimes naughty behavior.  If it gets a laugh from her brother and sister, she'll do it over and over and over!
  • She wants to do everything her brother and sister do!  We used to be able to be sneaky and let Aubrey or Carson do or get something without Charlotte knowing......not anymore.  She hears and sees everything, and she does NOT want to be left out!
  • She wants to do everything HERSELF.  "No me, no me, no me, no me......."
  • She loves to have books read to her.  Some current favorites are: anything Cinderella, anything Elmo, the giant Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme book, and A Mama for Owen.
  • Most days I'm pretty sure she survives on air (and yogurt).  The doctor says she's growing well, so I guess I will try to not worry too much!  She now weighs 24 pounds (30th %ile) and is 34.75 inches tall (70th %ile).  A big jump in height %ile!
  • She loves to play "pretend."  She cooks up lots of food in her new kitchen and loves to make smoothies in her blender.  She also likes to play with her babies.....she pushes them around in their stroller, changes them, and feeds them.  She's also starting to get into playing all the crazy pretend games with Aubrey and Carson.  She's usually the "baby" in those games.  I get such a kick out of watching and listening to them!!
  • When you see her doing something she's not supposed to she says, "I fine," or "I okay."
  • She loves to listen to music and watch videos on the iPad.  Her favorites songs are: We are Never Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift, Firework by Katy Perry, and anything and everything by One Direction.  Seriously.  No itsy bitsy spider for this third child....  She can name about 4-5 One Direction songs after just the first couple seconds.  And she knows all the boys' names and can pick them out anywhere.  Scary!!
  • Ever since she was born her "goodnight song" has been You are My Sunshine.  She used to sing along too....so cute.  She's now decided "no more Sunshine, now Firework."  I can do a pretty mean Firework, but still, kinda sad.
  • She can also have a little attitude.  Me: "Charlotte, come let me change your diaper."  Her: "No." This goes on for quite some time until she finally sighs and says, "oh fine" and comes over.  I about died the first time she said that.
  • Current nicknames:  Charlie, Char, "Sharley," Baby Girl, Bunny, Char-Char, Charlie Bell, Charlie Jane, Janie, and Charles.  Charles is usually what I bust out when she's in trouble....
  • She still sucks those middle two fingers on her right hand....a lot.  She still sucks her fingers and twirls her hair with the other hand when she's tired.  She has recently started pulling her hair.  I'm not sure if this is in frustration, or just something to do, but she will actually pull hair OUT!  And she doesn't have any hair to spare!!
  • Speaking of......she is still pretty bald.  Way less hair than Aubrey or Carson had at this age.  She won't be needing a haircut for quite some time.....  Never thought I'd be wishing for that baby mullet!
  • She doesn't back down.  She can definitely hold her own with her big brother and sister.  If she doesn't want to do something, there's no making her.  She once sat at the table for over 45 minutes because I told her she had to "eat one last bite before she could get down."  (Okay, so we're both stubborn.)  But she won.....never did eat that green bean.
  • She is at that perfect age of becoming a tiny person.....losing the baby look, but still so tiny and darling.  There are times I just can't stop squeezing her and want to eat her up!!!
  • She has been the best addition to our family.  I can't even imagine what life was like before she arrived.  We've all had the best two years watching her grow and enjoying the fun and sweetness she brings to our family.  We love you Charlie Jane!!
