North Pole Express

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, my mom had the idea to take us all on the North Pole Express. It's a train that you catch in Horseshoe Bend. We rode for about an hour and ended up at the North Pole! Aubrey has seriously been talking about our ride to the North Pole ever since. She'll tell anyone who'll listen, "We really went to the North Pole and saw Santa!" So FUN!

All aboard!

Aubrey soon ditched us to sit with her beloved cousin Callie.
Carson found a few things to keep himself entertained.

We were a little worried because the train ride started right during Carson's nap. He ended up being fine and had a great time.

Mrs. Clause and the elf Jingle provided some mid-ride entertainment.

Enjoying the view....

We finally made it to the North Pole!!

It was the perfect day for a trip to the North Pole too.......not too cold, but snow on the ground and some snow falling.

The whole gang.

Picture with Mrs. Clause while waiting for our turn with SANTA!!

Both kids got a little nervous as we neared the big man, so they went up together. They both sat on his lap with no tears (maybe the first year that's happened) and told him what they wanted for Christmas. Aubrey said a pink light saber (good luck with that one Santa) and Carson said Ironman.

Now time to play in the snow!
Carson was determined to hit the camera with a snowball!

Catching some snowflakes.....

One last stop at Santa's Workshop.

Now time to warm up back on the train with some hot chocolate.

Santa even made an appearance on the train ride home.

It started getting a little cold and dark on the ride back, but it looked really cool.

What a fun afternoon! We may have to make this a yearly trip. I've said it before, but I LOVE kids and Christmas!!
