Grandma Lyn and Grandpa Tom were in town visiting a week before Carsey's birthday, so we had an early birthday party!

Playing with and carting around his new Buzz Lightyear pillow. He LOVES that guy. He now sleeps with him every night. Occasionally he'll just pat him and say, "He's nice. He's so soft.....I love him!"
A couple days later on his actual birthday.......opening some presents from out of town. Thanks Grandpa Jensen!
Brian got home a little late from work that night, but we managed to sneak in a few quick presents. Here he is SO excited about his new Cars helmet......
And, his new SKATEBOARD!! Yes, that's right.....we are the parents who gave their two year old a skateboard. I'm blaming it all on his father, and will remind him of this when (not if) he gets hurt on it. Although I do have to say Carson was SUPER excited!!
Testing it out......he's surprisingly not that bad! However, I don't think I'll let him outside with it just yet.
He didn't want to part with it for the rest of the evening....
The next morning we had more time to give him the rest of his presents. He was also quite excited about his new Spiderman scooter. No more riding sister's pink princess scooter for this boy!
Opening his new T-ball set. Unfortunately the weather has not been nice enough to play with it much outside yet......but he's ready! It better warm up quick or we'll have a broken window or two....
Then a few days later we had his family party at our house. Patti stopped by a little before the party began to say happy birthday and of course drop off a present or two.

Just kidding, but Carson was way excited when he saw it.....almost made the two hours worth it!
Blowing out his last set of candles for the year. (He blew them out about half way through the Happy Birthday song.......) He did love the singing again though.....his little face just smiling away the whole time! He actually laid in bed the other night singing Happy Birthday to himself.....for about an hour!

Well it appears that the cake was a big hit! It turned out really cute. His smile in front of his cake is a great one. And I see that mom roped Mary into coming over for the festivities. And all the cousins...he was really the star!!
