Boise Aquarium

Sometime recently, Boise opened its first aquarium.  I've been wanting to check it out for a while now, so this weekend we finally went.  I am giving it a mixed review.  I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but I was a little disappointed.  Now they are still in the building phase.....you can tell they plan to expand.  But it was quite small and VERY crowded.  I can't imagine we weren't exceeding the fire code!  They did have some cool exhibits.....the kids loved looking at the octopus, the stingrays, sharks, and the large fish pools.  My children were sort of terrified also (okay they're a little wimpy).  You are allowed to touch anything in the "open water" pools, which is pretty cool.  Aubrey got a little braver toward the end and did touch a baby shark and a clam.  I "helped" Carson touch one of the clams.  We did have a good time, but really had to stretch to spend an hour there.  And for the price ($30 for our family), I wasn't terribly impressed.  Oh well.  We went out for U-Swirl afterwards and I'm quite confident that was the kids' favorite part!
