Road Trip!

I've been debating whether or not to make the trek to Utah this summer.....kind of a long way for Miss Charlotte in the car. But it didn't look like my dad was going to make it here this summer and my Grandpa Jensen hasn't been doing very well lately.....so we decided we'd better head down. The kids were super excited. The idea of a road trip is still fun for them.....cuddled up with all their "guys," eating snacks, watching movies! And the drive wasn't too terrible. Charlotte did pretty well.....doesn't like to sleep in her carseat, so that's a little rough. But we made it.
It was a quick trip....gone only about 50 hours total (10 of those in the car). But I'm very glad we went. It was great to see my dad and my grandpa, and they both really loved seeing the kids (and I'm sure Brian and me too)!
My dad and Lisa put together this airplane the night before we arrived, and the kids LOVED playing on it!

We were there for Terrace Days again this year!! (Twice in 3 years!) We seriously don't plan that, but fun for the kids!

The parade Saturday evening.....the weather even cooperated.

I think it's one of the only parades left where they still allow people to throw candy.....Aubrey and Carson were thrilled!!

Oh, T.H. Bell cheerleaders......the good ol' days!

I told the kids the more they waved the more candy they would probably get......I don't think they stopped the whole parade!

Then down to good old Rhomer Park for more fun.....

Carson being pushed down the slide by a worker that had to go in after him.......

I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with my sweet Grandpa Jensen. At 96 he's still living on his own, getting around pretty good, and still loves to tell stories!! He's had such an amazing life and I'm so proud to be his granddaughter! It also really hit me on this trip how much my dad is becoming my grandpa and also how my brother Blake is becoming my dad! Genes are so crazy!! Anyway, a good trip.

And a big shout out to my awesome husband.....thank you for spending your Father's Day on a road trip to see my family. What a guy!
