Birthday Party # 1 and #2

This year for birthdays I decided we had to keep it simple.....we've got our hands full enough on just a regular day! Carson chose a Star Wars theme for his birthday party this year. So we invited some family over, I bought an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen, and we had a great time celebrating our little Buddy turning 3!

I actually felt bad buying a cake instead of making one this year.....that is until Carson saw it. He was SO excited about all the new Star Wars guys!

We seriously couldn't get him to stop playing with the guys even long enough to eat the cake!!

We did finally convince him to put them down so he could open his presents!!

Brian and I had set our presents out right before people started coming over. Carson was so excited about the pile of presents that when the guests started coming and bringing their presents he told them all, "I already have presents.....I don't need that." So funny!

He did, however, get into it and started tearing through present after present!

And he even let Aubrey "help" on a couple....

Uncle Chris and the Jensens won the award for the most obnoxious present......two really loud guns that keep making noise for however long the trigger is held down! (Those quickly became outside toys....) He loves them though!

Birthday boy with his sisters!

And the next day testing out his new big boy BIKE!

He's still a little wobbly and doesn't quite have the whole peddling thing down yet, but he's excited and we're hopeful that he'll be riding all over the place this summer!

We now have a 3 year old in the house again.....

The second birthday in our string of spring birthdays is actually mine. Although this one doesn't usually get the same attention as the other two (which I'm perfectly fine with), I did have a really fun one this year! Two of my best friends whom I've known since we were kids came into town for a visit! We've seen each other periodically throughout the last several years, but last year we decided we needed to make it an annual event. So, since I had the newborn, they came to Boise again this year. It was such a FUN weekend......lots of food, shopping, laughing, talking, and just relaxation! Charlotte had her first experience sleeping in a hotel (she did great by the way). I absolutely love these girls. There's just something about "old" friends.....I love that we can not see each other for an entire year, but the second we're together it's like no time has passed at all.

It was just exactly what I needed!! Thanks girls! And a big thank you to my awesome husband....he was on daddy duty all weekend and doesn't complain for a second. I'm one lucky lady.
