He has been occasionally peeing and even pooping on the potty for a while now, just not consistently. He then learned how to take his diaper off, in the middle of the night and during the day. I would find him running around totally naked and he would then refuse to put a diaper back on. Is he showing us that he's ready to be potty trained?? We then got him some Buzz Lightyear big boy underwear and he was SUPER excited to try them out. So, I thought "Let's give it a try. If he isn't ready we can always go back to diapers."
We had Memorial Day weekend coming up, which is actually the same weekend we potty trained Aubrey. I have come to discover however, that she may have been extremely easy to potty train......I think she spoiled us.
Anyway, so Saturday came, he got up and we put him in his first pair of underwear. About an hour later he peed in his first pair of underwear. He had a couple accidents that first morning, but it seemed like he was maybe starting to understand when he needed to go. I pumped him full of juice, crystal light, and milk in hopes that would let him experience "the feeling." Saturday night we were eating dinner over at my mom's with my grandparents who were in town, and the rest of our family that's here. As Carson was playing outside with his cousins, he apparently pooped and peed his pants......great......seriously, Aubrey never pooped her pants! We put him to bed that night in a diaper (not ready to tackle that yet).
The next morning was Sunday, and by 10:00 we had 2 more wet pairs of underwear. I was seriously frustrated and told Carsey we were going to put him back in diapers. He screamed and cried, "No diapers......underwear!!" Great, so now we're stuck.....so much for going back to diapers. Later that day, however, I started to become encouraged. No accidents the rest of that day, lots of pees and a poop in the potty. The next morning he even woke up with a dry diaper! So here we are on Tuesday, he is still accident free and I'm thinking it may have been a success!! I still have to check in with him quite often and he sometimes starts going a few drops of pee before he says, "I pee!" and we run him into the bathroom to go. A work in progress......
But seriously, how CUTE does he look in his big boy underwear?!?!

I've been DYING to know how it went this weekend! It makes me laugh that he did both jobs in his undies while at mom's house, full of company. Hee hee hee. That's awesome. It does sound promising, though! Way to go Carsey!!
