June

I promised myself I wouldn't do these giant, long posts anymore (annoying when I put together the blog book), but alas, here I am cramming to get posts done.....so oh well.

Here's a look at our June!  I'm quite certain I've mentioned a few times, but I LOVE SUMMER!!  We were so excited when school got out and ready for some fun in the sun.  And thankfully, June this year has been really nice weather.....much warmer than the last couple years.  So we've just been having some fun.
I took the first week or so of summer vacation to put together a schedule for us (so I don't lose my mind), a collection of school activities (c'mon, I'm a teacher), chore charts (so I don't raise lazy, helpless children), and an assortment of art projects (my kids all love to do "projects").  I have to say it has worked really well.  It's kept us in a bit of a routine and been good entertainment and learning opportunities for the kids.  Yay me!  Now keeping up with this in July and August will be another story.....

But here is our month in pictures. ( I promise it hasn't been all chores and school activities...)

Rock painting!!  This seriously entertained them for an hour.

One real big advantage of living at my mom's this summer......the POOL!!  I'm quite certain my kids have gone swimming once or twice a day at least five days every week.  They have become fish!

And just PLAYING!  Lots of playdates, trips to parks, the zoo, walks, bike rides, etc, etc....

Meridian Dairy Days!  We missed this last year (and maybe the year before?), but the kids were SUPER excited to go the "the fair!"  They loved the rides (mostly).  Those pictures on the roller coaster are hilarious!! And we were able to resist the carnies and not play any games.  It was a fun evening.

A few pictures of chores and a school activity....

And right at the beginning of June, Charlotte started sleeping in a bed!  She had learned how to crawl out of her crib, and then of course couldn't get back in.  So we decided it was time.  We turned her crib into the toddler bed.  She actually has done really well!  There have been a couple nights where she's come out when she's supposed to be going to bed, but overall it's been a very easy transition!  Yay for Charlotte!!

The last weekend in June, my dad and stepmom decided to come up for a visit.  We went out to dinner Friday night, showed them our house and Chris and Donna's house both in different stages of construction, and then spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon at Eagle Island.  It was fun, and really good to see them.  The kids had a blast!
